Founded in 1988, Tapestry Chamber Choir has developed into an exciting cultural gem for York Region.
The continuing goal is to provide professional level performances of choral music for the enjoyment of its audiences.
Tapestry is a close-knit group of musicians who enjoy weaving musical tapestries from many cultures and eras
with the goal of presenting professional level performances for the enjoyment of their audience.
While a capella works are the mainstay of the choir, Tapestry also performs with piano, organ or orchestral accompaniment.
Tapestry, under the direction of Trevor Dearham, conductor, and with the support of George Vandikas, accompanist,
continues this fine tradition of providing exceptional choral music for our audiences.
George Vandikas is a retied teacher, active performer and collaborative pianist in a wide variety of musical genres. He is an alumnae of the University of Toronto Music Program where he earned undergrad and graduate degrees in piano performance. He studied and participated in master classes with such notable pianists as; James Anagnoson, Boris Lysenko, William Aide, Patricia Parr, Greta Kraus, Eugene List and Anton Kuerti. Together with his wife Sheila they run a successful music studio in Newmarket and have raised four children, all of whom are accomplished musicians.
